LOWA - Combat Boot MK2 GTX

Super good boot! I was very attached to my “old” combat boots from Meindl, but unfortunately they are now really past their zenith... That's why this one is concerned and I'm really happy. It's a bit of a matter of getting used to with the lacing, but once you've done it twice, you'll notice how well it works (it's like a clamp with which you can secure the lower half of the lacing so that you can relax and take care of the upper half, i.e. put your tongue properly, tighten, knot, etc.)! I also have size 12, fit normally, almost wider than the standard foot. But that suits me more. Otherwise, I have an estimated 200 kilometers behind me since purchase in these - admittedly not exactly cheap - combat boots. But a real treat for both indoor and off-road service. Light enough to be able to stand comfortably in, but can also be tightened so well that the foot is tight and you don't have to worry too much about blisters when you rush through the dirt again (as everyone certainly knows: it will probably never work without it...: -)) Until now, it's still pretty tight, but as always, care is the be-all and end-all, it's certainly not the wheel here reinvented... All in all, I give it a 5/5.

A short introduction to understand my rezi: I do a bit of bushcraft with my dog, and 65% of me always walk through moist, wet meadows and therefore I tend to wear leather shoes rather than textile shoes. The odyssey starts with the dog ;-) Lowa N6 no longer waterproof after 4 months, the same with Zephyr GTX, then Haix mountain boot light, but they had a fault with the sole in the left shoe, was also 2nd choice (BW-OS) then bought Haix Commando GTX here, I managed to run through the shoe in one year despite good care, with the weak point on the laces and the construction itself responsible for this, holes in the tongue. Mountain boot light from Haix... initially good but again sole problems in the left shoe... What to do, there aren't as many leather shoes under 300 that I would trust... So blind Lowa ordered in 42 for a proud 290, - euros... What am I supposed to say? After 20 km with dog, through meadow and forest, shopping, the shoe is comfortable, lightweight, but also very warm in summer, you can't get into the water quite as deep as with the Haix because the holes for the climate menprane are a bit deeper, but it's enough. The sole is lighter and thin than the Berg or Commandos, you have more space in the front foot in terms of width than the Commandos, similar to those of a mountain boot. The lacing is 2 zones and funny loosened, with a clamp, so taking it off becomes a curse for now to amuse those present, But when you find out how it works “awesome crap” Hahahaha The last 2 eyelets might be better designed as hooks, but they fit. On gravel, the Lowa with their sole are quite quiet, yet torsion-resistant and offer good grip in the shoe, the inner shoe is quite soft and comfortable, stones are easily noticeable but nothing noticeable. The sole is self-cleaning, at least for me, in the hallway ;-) Conclusion: Is the shoe worth it? It is a comfortable lightweight, comfortable leather shoe with a few clever features that is intended for hiking, bushcraft or what it is for, the military service without having to shrink in. Two drawbacks are grommets instead of hooks, and the price. The first is tolerable the 2nd, I have to drive a long way, I think 249; - and the shoe “runs” As for durability, we'll hear back in 12 months... but I think or better I hope that the shoe is still fit there.
