Backpacks and bags from ESSL have been used for decades by the Austrian army and other armed forces. The name ESSL stands for affordable quality and reliability. A quality robust backpack from ESSL with a main compartment with drawstring closure, two zip outer pockets, one top pocket, zip pocket on hip belt as well as a practical camera bag. The back was strengthened and thanks to its specific shape does not puts pressure on the spinal cord. The back straps are ergonomically shaped. The padded back panel and the wide, padded waist belt also feature a sweat-absorbent mesh material. Outer loops for attaching trekking poles are available, as are gear loops on the lid and base. With chest strap and an integrated rain cover.

A rock-solid backpack with plenty of storage space. I've had the backpack for several years now. As a backpack workout, I jogged 5 km every day for a year with a payload of 10 kg - without any problems. With my backpack, I went on pilgrimage for hundreds of kilometers with 15 kg in heat and cold - even without any problems. The straps and back cushions do not crumble despite frequent sweating and washing. All seams are bomb-tight. Not bad, really.

I received the ESSL 40L today and immediately noticed that the seams that hold the rubber tab on the backpack cover are extremely poorly stitched. On the right side, there was already a corner off and under load, you would lose the sleeping bag that is strapped on. Rucksack goes back

The purchase of the ESSL 40 L was a good decision for daily service as a replacement for the BW combat backpack Flecktarn. The well-padded back system in particular can be reinforced by the Iso Matte BW. All the equipment fits well for day hikes. The side pockets provide space for water bottles. The rain cover in the lower compartment is also a good alternative and developed by ESSL, which has also already equipped ÖBH with these backpack systems. The material is very robust, the additional straps also allow the sleeping bag to be unfastened. Highly recommended!!! Of course, this 40 L backpack from ESSL is also a good choice for civilian trekking and outdoor tours

The backpack is not bad, it is very comfortable and well constructed. The big problem is that the backpack is not adjustable for all body sizes and is therefore uncomfortable to wear. After 10 minutes you don't feel anything, at 3 hours, even with a minimal load, you just don't feel like it anymore. Own size approx. 172 cm
