When using throwing knives, it is important to ensure the handle is easy to grip and not wet. Otherwise, there is a risk of the hand slipping on the handle, potentially causing injuries to oneself or others. There are no special considerations needed before initial use; the throwing knife is ready for use immediately. Of course, it is advisable to familiarize oneself with the topic beforehand and especially to have plenty of space for practice. It's important to avoid having people, animals, or valuables such as cars nearby.
Throwing knives are available in many different variants. Throwing knives differ especially in their size and handle. The handle can be textured for a firm and secure grip until the knife "leaves" the hand. The size of the blade is purely a matter of personal preference. It should be suitable for the intended use and not too large. Smaller blades have greater penetration power and can be much more effectively used in maneuvers. Throwing knives are made with special care.
To ensure a perfect throw, the blade has been sharpened equally on both sides. The balanced weight ensures that the knife follows the specified flight path. Knives with uneven weights tend to change their trajectory. Our range consists exclusively of products from renowned brand manufacturers. They guarantee excellent quality of their products with their good reputation, experience, and market leadership position.

If a knife is not available, other objects can be repurposed because throwing technique is key here. Once mastered, almost anything can be made to fly. Examples of repurposed objects: screwdrivers, utility knives, carpenter's nails, axes, chisels, or even pens. Of course, careful consideration should also be given to the selection of the "training" area because if the technique is not yet mastered, the throwing object can quickly bounce sideways and fly several meters in unintended directions.
With a little talent, anyone can learn the basics of knife throwing within half an hour. Afterward, one usually masters the throw from short distances (3 meters). It's important to be able to throw the knife in a way that it sticks. The nuances like precise aiming and hitting smaller targets are learned gradually by the thrower.
There's an unwritten law among knife throwers: "We do not throw at live targets," including trees. Softwood log rounds make perfect throwing targets. Ideally, rounds should have a diameter of at least 50 cm and be about 20 cm thick. However, a larger wooden surface made from individual old slats patched together can also suffice.
The best throwing knives are those "without any frills." Bulbous handles are not suitable. Hooks or curls at the end of the handle that could catch are an absolute taboo. Good alternative materials would be leather wraps or parachute cord, but the handle should always be kept flat and straight.
Throwing knives undergo extremely rigorous use, much harder than the use of other types of knives. The toughest challenge that throwing knives must endure is the collision between a thrown knife and one already stuck. Good throwing knife steels must therefore not break. Ideal throwing knife steels are primarily tough but do not need to be excessively hard. Therefore, non-stainless steel is the ideal material for throwing knives, as it is also easy to sharpen.
A throwing knife should always have a certain minimum weight to be thrown as controllably and power-saving as possible. Since throwing knives should not fall below a certain length (23 cm), this results in a certain minimum weight. It should typically weigh around 250 grams, ideally a bit more.
