In military contexts, rank insignia are indispensable as they serve to identify the status of individuals, indicating their roles and proper forms of address. Many people also enjoy wearing insignia in private settings or at receptions.
Insignia serve various purposes ranging from military use to security personnel identifying their status. Security personnel often use large, conspicuous insignia to command respect and encourage compliance with regulations. In the private sector, military insignia are also worn as part of a specific clothing style adorned with various emblems, creating individualized statements that attract attention. Besides traditional dog tags, insignia are increasingly integrated into everyday attire. ASMC offers a wide selection of insignia made from durable materials that can be easily sewn onto clothing. Metal insignia support various attachment methods, with larger emblems typically attached to the back and smaller ones on the chest, indicating affiliation with a security service. It's important for all members of a security service or military unit to wear identical insignia to signify unity. ASMC provides insignia and other accessories in large quantities for ordering.
To ensure long-lasting quality for your high-quality insignia, here are some useful tips for ironing: Iron-on patches and badges have a special coating on the back that allows them to adhere easily to all cotton fabrics using an iron. It's best to perform a short ironing test on the textile: Start by ironing the area where the badge will be placed. Position the badge on the desired spot, and for protection of the embroidery and iron, place a cloth between the iron and the patch. The iron should be set at approximately 135°C. Apply firm pressure for about 20 - 30 seconds, especially along the edges of the patch. These are general guidelines that may need adjustment based on fabric thickness and heat conductivity. Note that these ironing instructions are suitable for normal cotton and cotton-blend textiles. For other fabrics such as 100% polyester (jerseys), we do not guarantee optimal patch adhesion. It's advisable to conduct tests on less visible areas of modern textiles beforehand.
It's difficult to provide an exact number as there are numerous types of insignia for various official and non-official military applications.
Insignia can be attached to clothing and equipment in several ways: 1. Adhering with textile glue or compact adhesive (not too thin to prevent soaking into the fabric). Pros: Insignia can be removed/repositioned. Cons: Potential residue or discoloration on fabric. 2. Insignia with a needle on the back are stitched into the fabric. Pros: Insignia position can be changed, no damage to the fabric. Cons: Possible insignia detachment, needle breakage. 3. Self-adhesive insignia are attached using the adhesive film on the back. Pros: Simple application, insignia position can be changed. Cons: Potential unintended detachment of the insignia.
Merrowed edge means the edge is overlocked with thread. Laser cut ensures the edge is cut by laser, preventing fraying that may occur with cutting by knife or scissors.
When used correctly, textiles with fabric insignia can be washed up to 50°C. However, metal insignia should be removed before washing.
