Before using the stove for the first time, read the instruction manual. The operation of most models is quite simple. Nevertheless, important handling instructions for the camping stove can be found in the operating instructions. Before lighting the stove, it should be placed on a level and wind-protected surface. This prevents the stove from tipping over and fabrics catching fire from flames, which could lead to injuries or fires in the worst case.
The height of the gas flow can be controlled by a lever on the side. The heating head of the camping stove can be ignited with a simple lighter. Initially, the gas should be set to a low level. Once the flame is lit, it can then be increased. Depending on the required temperature and the material of the cooking pot, the flame must be adjusted higher or lower.
ASMC offers a diverse range of options. All stoves operate on the same principle. When choosing, consider the intended use of the stove. If you already have a cooking pot, the camping stove should be purchased to match its size. The cooking pot is placed above the heat burner: for this purpose, there are three to four spikes at this point. The stability is not affected by the number of spikes. Therefore, the stove can be chosen according to personal preference.
Those who often cook in windy areas should focus on the triangle stove. Its flame is protected from all sides against the wind. Therefore, cooking is possible even under extreme weather conditions without the flame unintentionally going out.
Jetboil-Flash, the gas cooking system for high altitudes. This stove is an absolute highlight in terms of stoves. A lightweight companion for almost all tours and outdoor activities. Quick setup, easy operation, and very comfortable. The cooking system combines a high-performance burner with a sturdy cooking cup. The integrated piezo ignition of the gas flame ensures quick, safe operation without additional tools.
There are gas stoves, gasoline, kerosene, and diesel stoves, all-rounders (multi-cookers), the Scandinavian classic Trangia (spirit), the small Esbit stove, and of course the campfire.
Falling air pressure can lead to a drop in performance with gas stoves. To avoid this, there are stoves with integrated pressure regulators. This keeps the performance constant at a low level. Stoves with pressure regulators are quieter during operation than other models.
The lightest stoves start at about 80 grams. Standard models weigh around 150 to 300 grams. Multi-burner stoves are much heavier and can weigh up to 3,000 grams. This should be taken into account when considering the respective personal use.
Insert the cartridge into the holder at the bottom, then screw the top on top of it. By screwing it in, a pin pierces the cartridge, which may hiss a little because gas escapes (it's best done outdoors). Once it hisses and the pin passes through the aluminum, quickly continue turning until it can no longer be turned to prevent butane/propane from escaping. Then wash your hands, as the liquid gas that can drip from the cartridges smells unpleasant.
Both butane and propane are liquefied gases. Propane is cheaper than butane and burns even in winter down to -40°C. Butane gas cannot be used for cooking in winter, but it has a more efficient energy value than propane. In the outdoor/camping sector, the cartridges are filled with a butane/propane (60/40) mixture to compensate for the disadvantages.
