For almost 100 years, Hanwag has been manufacturing its boots in Germany. The name is derived from the company's founder, Hans Wagner, who incorporated a then-new technique called "Zwienähen" into the production of his mountain and trekking shoes.

Today, the company is part of the Swedish Fenix Group. However, the focus of production remains on high-quality boots that excel in both hiking and mountaineering.
