Everyone knows how important it is to protect their eyes. Whether from the sun, debris while cycling or participating in other sports, sparks while welding, or projectiles and shells in shooting ranges or on the paintball field.
The "Maison Séraphine Bollé," a company that initially produced combs and hair accessories, was founded in 1888. A new material, celluloid, from which the company's previous products were also made, would significantly influence Bollé's trajectory.
Forty-eight years after its founding, Bollé started producing its first sunglasses. Their frames were made of celluloid. During World War II, the military industry relied on the know-how of this company. After the war, Bollé began producing the first eyeglass lenses made from the new material, nylon.
In 1993, Bollé designed a classification system that allowed safety glasses to be categorized into different protection classes.
Today, Bollé manufactures sunglasses for various sports, ski goggles, as well as ski and snowboard helmets.
