Prohibited Knives - Which ones are not allowed?

According to the German Weapons Act (WaffG Appendix 2), some types of knives are classified as weapons and are therefore prohibited.

Prohibited knives include:
1. Gravity knives (knives whose blades snap out of the handle due to gravity when a locking mechanism is released)
2. Switchblades (knives whose blades snap open at the push of a button)
3. Push daggers (knives with a handle running across the blade, designed to be used in a closed fist)
4. Folding knives with split handles that pivot, such as the butterfly knives seen in movies
5. Knives whose type is named as a weapon in the law and whose shape is suitable for disguising another object. These include walking sticks with a sword or belt buckles with a dagger.

How often should knives be sharpened?

Sharpen knives as soon as the edge becomes dull, making it difficult to cut or requiring excessive force. Determining when a knife is dull is subjective, so it's an individual decision. Typically, knives used frequently should be sharpened 1 to 3 times per year.

Home remedies for rust on the blade?

For small rust spots, a mixture of vinegar and salt can often remove rust. The rust removal power is limited—sometimes requiring rinsing, scrubbing, and repeating. The acid does not damage the material. Another method is using cola. Soak the blade in cola for an hour and repeat the process depending on the severity of rust.
